Marlins Beach Resort

Marlins is a nice older hotel. This side of the island is quite windy which makes it ideal as the sea breeze is delightful on a hot day. Rooms are simple and clean. The beachfront rooms are worth it. It is so nice to sit on the balcony with the breeze and enjoy the view. The aircon in our room worked very well - arctic cold. And the showers were nice and hot. The beds were firm but comfortable. Only sheets are provided. I wish they would supply a blanket as I am used to sleeping with one. Breakfast was ok, there was some variety each day. It is more geared to Filipino travellers taste but we still found it ok. The staff are excellent here. From the friendly security guards to the front desk, to all the cleaning staff, everyone is always smiling and friendly and helpful. They treat you like family. The location is good, easy short walk to restaurants and bars either along the beach or by road. There are trikes out front that can take you where you want to go. The grounds of the hotel are well cared for, and there are plenty of sun lounges with either shade or sun depending on what you want - there were always plenty available. I would recommend Marlins and happily stay again. Hopefully one day they build a pool which would make it even better, but we had plenty of lovely swims in the ocean so all good. :)

+ Free pickup and drop-off service from Santa Fe harbor (When entering the resort, there was no van driver, so we took a tuk-tuk, and the resort paid 100 pesos for the cost. It took 2 minutes to move by van when leaving for Santa Fe again.) + Extremely friendly information desk (When going to Alice Beach, they called a tuk-tuk for us, and it felt like they safely booked it for the minimum fare round trip? I truly felt they prioritized and cared for their customers throughout our stay.) + Delicious breakfast (I had a hearty breakfast, enjoyed Virgin Island, and had a great time in Cebu City on the last day. I wrapped up breakfast food to avoid flies, and there was also a fly-catching device; it was really... impressively clean!) + Beautiful garden + Beach right in front (Feels like the sea in Gangneung on the East Coast) + Main shopping street, White Beach, is within walking distance (It's truly the best. I never used a tuk-tuk. Everything is reachable by walking. It's close, yet the resort is quiet and peaceful.) + Tuk-tuk drivers are always waiting at the corner of the accommodation (However, I haven't used them. Whenever I wanted to go somewhere, I just mentioned it to a safety staff member or reception, and it felt like they called it for a minimum fare without any overcharging. They provide such comfort that there's no need to haggle or worry.) + Clean rooms are a given + All the staff are very kind I felt a sense of comfort and assurance that future trips will go well from this accommodation, creating a very warm feeling! It's pure healing!! If I go back, I will definitely choose this accommodation, and I will absolutely recommend it to friends. Thank you so much for everything during our stay (..)

The resort is not your super fancy elegant resort, you won't find that on Bantayan Island and that's part of the beauty of the island. Marlins is a laid back, well maintained, super clean and decently kept beach front resort. They have an amazing and friendly staff that do their best to keep your stay as comfortable as possible. They are also centered in the middle of some beautiful beach fronts and walking distance to a lot of drink and food options. I would definitely come back to Marlins. Oh I also stayed at Kota Beach which had a funky bathroom odor to their rooms...Marlins had none of that...one of the main reasons I would return hahahaha.
